sheriff<\/a>\u2018s deputies arrested six people Monday night in connection with the operation of a meth lab inside a motel room near Slidell. Daniel Ely, 18; Ashley Howell, 31; Megan Hines, 17; Brooklynn Hollaway, 20; and, Mark Harris, 32, are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice and resisting an officer.<\/p><p>Ely lives near Slidell, while the others live in Carriere, Miss. All were taken to the St. Tammany Parish jail and held on $50,000 bond each.<\/p><p>Deputies found a sixth person lying on the floor under the bed, unresponsive and suffering from an apparent seizure. A rescue team took Keirsten Fisher, 35, to a hospital, where she later regained consciousness.<\/p><p>Fisher, whose address is unknown, will be charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia upon her release from the hospital.<\/p><p>Members of the patrol and narcotics divisions of the sheriff\u2019s office, as well as personnel from the parish\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stfpd1.org\/\">1st Fire Protection District<\/a>\u00a0and Acadian Ambulance, arrived at the Value Travel Inn around 10:30 p.m. in response to complaints that an unusual odor was emanating from one of the rooms.<\/p><p>The deputies checked several rooms before finding the one with the strange odor and knocking on the door, sheriff\u2019s spokesman George Bonnett said. A man peered from around the room\u2019s curtain and then disappeared back into the room.<\/p><p>After repeated attempts to get the man to open the door, deputies eventually gained access and removed Ely and Howell from the room.<\/p><p>The two confirmed that the room had been used to manufacture methamphetamine and told deputies that three other people \u2014 Hines, Hollaway and Harris \u2014 were still in the room, hiding in the bathroom, Bonnett said. Following an extended stand-off, the three surrendered to deputies.<\/p><p>As the authorities prepared the room for the disposal of the lab materials, deputies found Fisher under the bed, foaming at the mouth, Bonnett said. Her current condition is unknown.<\/p><p>Deputies recovered a significant amount of raw materials used in the cooking process, including several bags each of ammonia nitrate and lye, two bottles of sulfuric acid, and a gallon of camp fuel.
